Our January has been filled with smiles and laughter sadness and tears. It's been filled with life. And with life comes blessings. Blessings of family and faith and life itself. Blessings of togetherness and overcoming trials and burdens and seeking the Lord in the happy as well as the sad times. After all. That is what life is about.
A song kept playing through my mind so much this month. So many times this month I had to find myself laying my burdens at the feet of Jesus. And I felt the Lord just telling me that He was in the midst of my burdens and for me to leave them alone. January was a really, really difficult yet a beautiful month for me. And the song that stayed in my heart and on my mind was God Will Make This Trial a Blessing by Terry Tidwell.
The song goes on to say, God will make this trial a blessing tho it sends me to my knees.
Tho my tears flow like a river yet in him there’s sweet relief.
There’s no need to get discouraged there’s no need to talk defeat.
God will make this trial a blessing and the whole wide world will see.
Some days are harder than others. Heck, some months are even harder than others. And this January had trial after trial after trial. One of the simpler trials was our water line to the washing machine freezing and we had to go to the laundromat to do our laundry one evening. One of the harder times was our boy ending up with the flu. Not to mention, there were other happy yet difficult times too in our month of January. But you sometimes have to go through the trials to be reminded of the blessings that the Lord has truly blessed you with, and for this I'm grateful. The Lord has blessed our family with so much. He's blessed me with so much. Sometimes you have to go through things like our January to be reminded that the ordinary is actually the extraordinary. And that's exactly what ours is. If anything, this month has made me closer to my Lord, to my family, to my friends, and we're all attempting but failing to count our blessings because there are just too many blessings to be able to count them all.
So. Anyhow. There was snow and snowdays. And farm life. And photos. All kinds of photos for our January. And...Here they are!
