The day that we pack. The day that we get her ready to leave for a place 6 hours away. She will leave to go to her Nationals FBLA Competition tomorrow. She's been on this journey to get to where she is at with this competition since November of last year. We couldn't be happier with our daughter's accomplishments.
There's been family dinners around our kitchen table and making plans for July.
Yes, July, it's gonna' be crazy busy, but we're super excited about all that awaits us next month. There's so much to look forward to!

The past week or so we've been crazy busy around our place, but it's been just the right amount of busy, and we've been loving it.
From relaxing mornings outside to trips to get lemonade with my daughter, it's been great.
There's been flower gardening and hikes and all kinds of family stuff happening.

Today...
Today is Monday, it's the first day of Summer. We have so much greatness that's happening this Summer, and I'm excited about all of it. So many great times and memories will be on this Summer journey of ours.
Today, it also makes my heart ache. My Mom left this world two years ago today. She had a long, hard fight with COPD, and she was one of the strongest women I've ever known. Everyday I see a little more of my Mom in me, and I'm thankful for that. I also am so grateful for music...as my heart ached, as I got into my vehicle this morning my radio was playing the greatest song that could possibly fit today. "In Better Hands Now" by Natalie Grant.
My Mom had a long hard battle on life support for around 10 days the last days of her earthly life. So, yes, this song is ringing so true in my heart today...
"It's like the sun is shining when the rain is pouring down
It's like my soul is flying though my feet are on the ground
So take this heart of mine there's no doubt
I'm in better hands now
It's like the sun is shining when the rain is pouring down
It's like my soul is flying though my feet are on the ground
Its like the world is silent though I know it isn't true
Its like the breath of Jesus is right here in this room
So take this heart of mine there's no doubt
I'm in better hands now
I'm in better hands now"
Today, I'm believing that, with all of my heart. The next time I see my Mama she is gonna' have new lungs and she'll be breathing beautifully. She will have great lungs, as great as she was.
Today, I'll miss my Mama, and I'll remember.

This weekend is Father's Day.
Saturday was a beautiful day. It was a day of work, then it was pizza, chicken tenders, and salad for dinner. Then later we had S'mores with some friends. And, the Father's Day Weekend celebration began.
S'mores was a great way to begin the celebration. I'm so grateful for the guy in my life who I share this life and these kids with. He's an awesome husband and he's an awesome dad, and I'm blessed and so very thankful!
You see, it's not just one day out of the year that we celebrate this guy. We celebrate him all year long. The things that he does from fixing flat tires on our son's bike to teaching our daughter to drive a car doesn't go unnoticed. He's great at a lot of things, but being a husband and dad is some of his greatest talents!
He loves our kids so good!
Happy Father's Day to one of the greatest! You have my heart and I'm so glad to share children with you.
And More Photos and a Video from the Weekend...

Because it's the first day the kids are on Summer Break. As of today, it's the last day of the school year, and the first day of Summer Break.
Because they're incredible humans with big, big hearts.
Because they passed 7th and 9th grades.
Because they are who they are, today calls for pancakes for lunch (in which I add a little sugar in the mixture).
Our boy even added some chocolate syrup to his. Because today is special.
It's days like today, I'm thankful to be able to come home on my lunch break!
Happy Friday, friends!

This week...it's been great, and it's been tough. There have been smiles, and our heart strings have been tugged on.
About the picture: My daughter gave me the pink flower a little over a week or so ago. My husband picked the daisies for me this week. These awesome people that I share life with, though!
Anyhow, this week...our daughter finished up her 9th Grade year of school and our son finished up his 7th Grade year. Summer break is about to begin at our place, and we all are excited for what Summer has to offer.
About the picture: Flowers we have hanging on our porch.
From the cookouts to the flower gardening to the corn hole games and even the camping trips and vacation time...it all is something we are awaiting for. These chapters of our story.

Perhaps when it really hit me, when it really became real to me that I am about to have an 8th Grader, is when I walked into the Elementary School office to sign the Visitor Pass book one last time as a parent visiting their child's event while in the Elementary School. Never again, unless the Lord has other plans for us, will I attend my child's 7th Grade awards. Never again, will I attend my child's Elementary School party. Never again, will I attend my child's Elementary School picnic. As, unless the Lord sees otherwise, I will never have another child in Elementary School. Wow! Time really, really needs to slow down.
Yes, it's that moment. You know, the one where I realize that I will never again have to write a check to our kids' elementary school for their school lunch. Our boy told me the other day that I didn't need to write him anymore checks for this school year for his lunch because his balance is paid for the rest of the school year. That means next school year will be when I write another check. Both checks (the one for our daughter and the one for our son) will say High School instead of Elementary School. So, this is it! Unless the Lord has other plans for me to have more babies, I will never again write a lunch check to the elementary school for my kids. It's a bittersweet moment. A part of me wants to cry, as I'm seeing life passing way too quickly, but then a part of me wants to smile and hug them for all of who they are becoming.
Speaking of school, I am happy that I now have achieved another goal of mine. I have received my Certificate of Achievement in the Art of Photography. Photography is so, so, so very important to me, and I am so happy that I went for this goal...I went for finishing this course...I now have this certificate!
Today, I was appreciating some of the simple things. Like, look at these! They will soon have flowers on them!
Last weekend we also began the Memorial Day Weekend celebration. I had to work for a half of the day on Saturday. We visited with family at my husband's sister's place. We had a cookout and Smores here. There was Church. It was a great weekend, and we're thankful for the memories made, and we're thankful for the memories that are forever in our hearts.
And that brings me up-to-date on this story of ours...
