My August in Photos

August has been an okay month! There has been some yucky times...my vehicle messing up a few times. As a matter of fact, as I type this, it is in the garage. August has also had many great times. From simple days...big cups of coffee to getting a pumpkin roll, then the even greater days...days spent at the park with my husband and our kids and our son's 12th birthday party.

Everyday life has been photographed...days of doing laundry, how I travel to work (with my morning to-go cup of coffee), the kids' first day of school, our son riding his bike.

By taking a photo each day...no matter how big or small of a meaning it holds...it allows us to look back and see some great moments that we've turned into memories.

I'm thankful for the August I've had and those I've shared it with!

Sunday Dinner

Today is Sunday.  It's a day for Sunday Worship (and I teach Kids Church today!), spending time with family, and great Sunday meals!  
It's a crockpot dinner kind of Sunday! What I'm making, by the way...it's Cheesy Chicken. 
The Ingredients:

Add boneless chicken breasts (I usually add around 4 to 6)

Two cans of Cheddar Cheese Soup

Two cans of Cream of Chicken Soup

Potatoes (I use red potatoes)

Garlic Salt and Black Pepper (to taste)

Cook on low for about 6 hours or until done.  Enjoy with your family!

Dinner Out

So Justin, the kids, and I went out for a nice dinner this evening. We had about a 10 minute wait before we were seated,and I decided to capture our moment(s) there while waiting on camera. I love watching the teenager Bree is...from her selfies to her fun self, she's just great! I love how simple, yet unique Troy is, he's a super kid! I'm also blessed to share life as well as these kids with my guy. It's been a great evening!

Meeting Their Team

These two had "Meet the Devils" Night at their school tonight. It was a night where the players of each sport's team were introduced, we had hot dogs, music, and time spent with friends.

Our two are running Cross Country this year, and we're so happy with their participation in the sport! :)

My Tuesday Morning=Bible Reading, emails, and morning coffee! :)

Living the life as a Daughter of the King, Wife to an amazing guy, Mom to two super people, and a photographer living her dream! Loving what I do with this one blessed life!

This morning I am studying what the word "Holy" means, as our Church was challenged to do this week by our Associate Pastor.

I've been studying this topic every single day so far this week.

Here is this morning's reading...

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; -1 Peter 1:15 KJV

To me this means quite a few things. It means to choose your words wisely. It means to not use filthy language. It means to be uplifting, but always speaking the truth when doing so. Sometimes when people think of encouraging others, they think of telling them what they want to hear, which is not productive for anyone. Instead we need to be kind, encouraging, and honest in everything we say and do. The truth benefits everyone.

Conversations also are reflected further than words...they're reflected by our attitudes and the way we live. We need to speak as much (if not more) with our actions and the life we live as we do with our words!

Happy Laundry Day!

Happy Monday, also known as Laundry Day at our place!

Today, I have a grateful heart. To be honest...I am not crazy about doing laundry, but I am so thankful that we have laundry for me to do. Today, I'm reminded of this, and thankful that the Lord provides our needs!

28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Sometimes evenings at home are the best. We've had grilled food...chicken kabobs, actually. I had a baked potato and Justin had crawfish. The kids have played in the sprinkler.

Counting it All Joy!

Anyhow...

As I was doing some Bible Reading last night I read this verse, and I really needed this one this week.

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:2-4 KJV  Two things have broke on us this week...I had to get my battery in my vehicle replaced on the kids' very first day of school, and our internet box got struck by lightning the night before last.

I had it all pictured perfectly...the kids first day of school was going to go smoothly. It was gonna be awesome! We were out the door on time, all dressed in new clothes, and it was a Monday, a new start to a new week. My vehicle not starting kinda' put things into perspective for me with what I already knew, but maybe needed to be reminded of once again. Life is good, life is actually great, but it's not a picture perfect world we live in.

Life has its challenges, and it's how we face those challenges that sometimes makes the picture of life, well, a little more colorful. My husband got a battery and replaced it in my vehicle, so it is now fixed. The kids got to school on time and I was taken to work by a great friend. So while it wasn't a picture perfect first day of school, it was not the worst day ever, and I chose to see the joy in our day! The battery wasn't the end of the world and it was still a pretty good Monday!

Then...fast forward to Wednesday night...our internet box got hit by lightning. Yes, two things broke in one week. You know what though? The technicians replaced the internet box Thursday, and that issue is now fixed too.

While this life isn't perfect, it still is so beautiful. Yes, there is an ugly side to life, there is hurting, trouble, heartache, pain, loss, disappointment, trials, and the list goes on. There is also a great side to life: smiles, laughter, happiness, joy, and that list goes on too.

While we've had our troubles this week, I realize they've been minor troubles. Those troubles are also now fixed. I count it all joy...the sunshine and the storms!

One of the Most Important Goals in this Season

On Mondays I try to get the laundry done and the house cleaned, and the list seems to go on and on.  This Monday was the kids' first day of the school year.  It was a nice day outside, and I wanted to be outside, so I went outside and folded laundry.

As I sat folding laundry I thought of how as I get all of these things to-do checked off of my list, one of the most important things for me to do in this season of my life is raise my kids the way they need to be raised, and Justin and I try to do that.  Some days with busy lives and hectic schedules life is hard, but we realize how blessed we are and what a gift these kids are to us.

As I fold the laundry and think of the what seems to be endless piles I have to do, I also think of how in just a short time my kids will be grown with their own places and doing their own laundry, so I'm going to enjoy this season...even the folding laundry part...I'm going to be thankful for it!

Above all else though...while I'm busy doing our laundry, cleaning the house we live in, and cooking the meals we eat...I'm not going to forget one very, very important thing...it's one of the most important things I can check off of my to-do list at this season in my life.

Back to School 2015-2016

Putting a spin on things, and turning our time for Summer Vacation into time for Back to School. 9th and 7th Graders are now in our home! Where does time go?!?

Well, one could say it's been a Monday! We got ready for work and school, and then went to start the vehicle, and the battery in my vehicle was bad, so my vehicle wouldn't start. We're thankful for good friends we can count on though. One of my best friends came to our rescue and got the kids to school on time and me to work. My husband also came to my rescue and replaced the battery, so all is well! It was definitely an adventure for the first day of the school year and the first day of the work week, but it's a new week and we're blessed! Happy 1st Day of the School Year to our kids. I pray it's a great year with many opportunities for you to create all kinds of memories.

Sunday Morning Silliness

So our son decided on cereal for breakfast before Church this morning, and this happened. All is well though...we placed the unspilled cereal that didn't land in the floor in a container, and he still got to have cereal for breakfast. This place called home is where we share happy times and even some sad times too. We're not only telling a story or being told a story at this place, but we are a part of the story too.
